Take control of your Arthritis with the GLA:D Program. The Physio Society is now offering the GLA:D (Good Life with Osteoarthritis: Denmark) program!
This internationally renowned initiative is designed to help individuals with hip and knee osteoarthritis (OA) manage pain, improve function, and enhance quality of life through targeted exercise and education.
The GLA:D® program is backed by research and has helped thousands of people reduce pain and increase mobility without the need for surgery. Our team of experienced physiotherapists will guide you through structured sessions to ensure you gain strength, confidence, and independence in managing your arthritis.
The GLA:D® program combines structured neuromuscular exercises with education to improve joint control, reduce arthritic symptoms and promote long term self-management. The program teaches participants how to move safely and efficiently whilst strengthening the muscles around the affected joint/s.
Our GLA:D program consists of:
1x 60 minute initial assessment to explain the program and assess functional capacity.
2 x education sessions on understanding osteoarthritis, risk factors and effective self management strategies.
1x 60 minute 1:1 gym session.
2x weekly 60 minute gym classes over 6 weeks to build strength, joint control and confidence.
1x 3 month review with a physiotherapist to assess progress, goals and function.
